I just had to take a moment out of my clean up to share this afternoon's debacle. After I finished frosting the cake (Vanilla cake w/ strawberry buttercream - yummy!) I decided to wash out my french press and make an afternoon cup of coffee. But wouldn't you know it - I slipped on a toy and dropped the french press, scattering shards of glass and wet coffee grounds everywhere.
Then, after herding the kids out of the room & settling them with a video so I could clean up the mess. As I began to mop up coffee grounds, pick up glass, and pick glass out of my feet, I slipped in the wet grounds and my elbow hit the cake KNOCKING IT ONTO THE FLOOR INTO A BAZILLION PIECES IN THE MIDST OF THE COFFEE GROUNDS AND GLASS!
*breathe breathe breathe*
I know this is not a big problem in the big scheme of things. And actually, if it happened in a sitcom - it would be hilarious. But right now I just want to wave my magic wand and make the mess go away.
oh, and the icing on the cake (so to speak:P) I don't even have my camera to take a decent pic of the whole debacle. It's being fixed!

Oh no, I would definitely have started to cry.
That's awful! I would have flipped out.
Wow, that is NO fun. I would probably have just sat on the floor and cried.
Sorry about that - I say throw the kids in the car and go to Starbucks drive thru for a pre-made treat and coffee.
Thanks all! I went out this morning & bought a new french press & a gorgeous new cake at the bakery:) If I figure out how to upload them from my phone I will post a pic!
Oh no...I think I would have lost it and had a breakdown. I know it's not bad in the scheme of things, but doesn't it just suck when so many crappy things happen at the same time! Hope you enjoyed your bakery cake after all that!!!
Not a big deal? I would have cried right then and there.
I would have crawled back in bed after a morning like that and not come back out!

Oh no! Buttercream is no fun to clean up. On Ro's first birthday we gave him his cake on the kitchen floor. It took at least 3 moppings to get the floor to not be slick and greasy. I feel your pain. And you don't even get the reward of coffee at the end!
